Rem-ly Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Rem-ly ("Rem-ly", the "App", "we", "us", or "our") processes, how it is used, and the choices you have. Rem-ly is developed and operated by Adham Karim, an individual developer. It applies alongside our Terms & Conditions.

1. Information We Process

• Account information. If you create an account, our authentication provider processes the email address and password you provide, plus an optional display name.
• Location. With your permission, Rem-ly uses precise location to evaluate place and Near Person conditions. Place conditions run on the relevant device. For Near Person, the backend receives only each participant's latest short-lived sample so it can return near or not-near; other participants cannot read coordinates or location history. A fixed place's coordinates are sent to the weather provider when you create a weather condition for that place.
• Apple Health data. With your permission, Rem-ly reads step count or workout activity through HealthKit on your device. Health values are not sent to Rem-ly's backend, other users, analytics services, or advertisers.
• Installation identifier. A random installation identifier scopes Local Mode data and, after sign-in, registers the correct installation for push notifications. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
• Content you create. Synced reminders, saved places, household names, contact connections, reactions, and reports are stored so the features you choose can work.
• Local Mode. Private reminder content and condition state stay on your device and persist across app launches. An account is required for contacts, household collaboration, server weather, and cross-device sync. Place-search text is sent to Google only when you choose to search, and Apple processes StoreKit requests if you view or manage a subscription.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information above only to operate the App's core functionality: evaluating the conditions you configure, delivering reminders and notifications, syncing data across your devices, and enabling the contact and household sharing you choose. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.

3. What We Don't Do

Rem-ly does not show ads, use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, or track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell personal information.

4. How Information Is Shared

• With people you choose. Sending a reminder to a contact or sharing a household board shares the relevant content and state with the people you select. A condition about another person stays inactive until that person gives the required consent.
• With service providers. We use the following providers only as needed to operate the App:
  • Apple — App Store and subscription billing, push notification delivery (APNs), HealthKit, and Family Sharing.
  • Supabase — account authentication and the shared Adhamkarim.com database project. Rem-ly data is isolated in rem_ly_* tables and policies from sibling products using the same account system.
  • Google — place-search text is sent to Google Places when you search. A fixed weather place's coordinates are sent to Google Weather so the forecast can be evaluated. These requests are not sent with your Rem-ly account identifier.
• We do not sell data or share it for third-party advertising or marketing.

5. Data Storage & Security

Synced Rem-ly data is stored on our backend provider's infrastructure and transmitted using encrypted connections. Local Mode reminder data stays on your device. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information and minimize what is retained.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete Rem-ly data at any time from Settings › Delete Rem-ly Data. Deletion removes Rem-ly reminders, conditions, contact connections, saved places, household memberships, reactions, backend entitlement records, and device registrations. Because authentication is shared with sibling Adhamkarim.com products, the shared sign-in identity and shared profile are preserved. An Apple subscription is also separate and continues until you cancel it through Apple's subscription settings. Local Mode data is removed when the App is uninstalled or its local storage is cleared.

7. Children's Privacy

Rem-ly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can delete Rem-ly data directly in the App; for access, correction, or export requests, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
